Klyx Games returns for Season 2, debuting brand new dungeon crawler

Rhubarb , Wraithzeon 1 August, 2025 4 minutes read

Klyx Games is kicking off its second season on 3rd August, debuting two new and highly anticipated games for the official rotation.

Since the last Klyx Games minigame tournament back in April, organisers CreepyBrawler (a.k.a. Creepy) and Asleepp have been working hard on improvements to the event, giving players and viewers a lot to look forward to in the upcoming season.

Creepy and Asleepp are keen to preserve the environment they cultivated in their previous season. “Even though we’re going into a new season, I still want to keep that vibe that we originally had,” Creepy tells us. “We’re usually known for a more laid-back, less competitive roster, and I would love to keep it that way for this event and for Season Two going forward.”

The Klyx Games organisers have been working to bring two new games to the table for Season Two. While one hasn’t ever been seen by the players, the other might be familiar to some. The Cube was teased in the final event of Season One, and will be making its true debut in Season Two.

“Although The Cube was only played once, even the people that didn’t play in that event definitely saw an appeal to the game,” Creepy says. “I think people will be very excited to see The Cube is back and in the main roster.” The Cube is a unique game that garnered a lot of excitement in the previous season, and players who missed it will be eager to have a chance to try their hand at it.

The game is formatted a little like a gameshow and a little like a wager. Players complete seven rounds of solo challenges and one round as a team, but the challenges have a twist. “At the start of every round, a challenge will appear inside of the Cube, and you have your own individual buzzer,” Creepy explains. “If you think you can do a challenge, you hit your buzzer. If you hit your buzzer and complete the challenge, you get maximum coins, but if you fail it, then you get a very, very small amount of coins.” It’s a game that promotes decision-making and playing to one’s own skills, with players choosing between taking risks or playing it safe.

The other game that will be debuting in Season Two is an all new dungeon crawler game called Infiltration.  Players will navigate a spaceship, making sure to be in and out before the timer runs out. There are several paths players can choose to take based on their own strengths and skill levels.

Inside the spaceship, players will mine mob spawners and crates, encounter “Orb Fights”, and be tasked with “Missions” that will gain their team coins to help them win the game. “Plasmic Cores” and “Plasmic Essence” can be collected by players throughout the game, and can be used to buy helpful upgrades for the team.

Alongside the new games, Season Two brings a plethora of quality of life improvements, including new maps for Freeze Tag and Souls, and a rework to Swift Builders and Shatterpoint. Many of the changes implemented over the break aren’t intended to make a big difference in gameplay or difficulty, but instead give a smoother experience for everyone involved. “I think the biggest change that people will see is that Asleepp has made loads of really cool changes to the UI,” Creepy tells us. “Everything looks a lot more polished and easy to see for the viewer, and Asleepp added some cool new effects.”

Another major change for Season Two is that Klyx Games will no longer be holding public applications for their core events, as their returning roster is growing bigger. Despite that, this change comes with the announcement of a new series in the works. “We will be starting a new series in September, called Klyx Games Horizons,” Creepy says. “Basically the premise is that the teams are teams of five, but people apply together as teams of four who have never played the event before.” Each team of newcomers will be teamed with an experienced participant to help show them the ropes – creating new team dynamics and allowing the event to be more accessible to new players.

Klyx Games #5 will take place on Sunday 3rd August at 2pm BST / 9am EDT. The following event has also been announced – Klyx Games: Shine Brighter will take place on Sunday 17th August at 7pm BST / 2pm EDT.
