Get Featured In Sphere News

How to get featured

There are several ways to get featured in Sphere News.  The most common ways are:

(1) Submit a project you think we should cover

You can submit a project – either one you own, or one you don’t own but would like to support – to be considered for coverage through our Contact Us page.

(2) Take part in a survey to be featured in a POV article

Survey opportunities will be promoted on our socials (X and Bluesky), and in our Discord.  The answers from these surveys are then featured in “POV” articles, sharing the opinions of people from all over the Minecraft space.

(3) Write your own article to be published on Sphere News

Love writing? Love Minecraft? Why not write for Sphere News?  Whether you have an idea in mind, an article already written, or would like to work together on a concept – we’d love to hear from you!  You can find out more about writing for us here.

(4) Be reached out to directly

The Sphere News team is always on the lookout for interesting Minecraft events and projects to cover, so one of our journalists may reach out to you if we spot a story.

Levels of Coverage

We cover projects and announcements in a variety of ways.  These levels, from the smallest and most common, to the biggest and rarest are:

“What’s On”

These pages show upcoming event dates within the next 2 months.  As well as the main calendar pages, your project may be featured in a short article promoting the weekend’s events and/or opportunities.

Mentions

We mention a lot of different projects and creators across all our coverage, and so do the people we interview.  Even if a project doesn’t receive a full article, it may still be referred to in a wider article or interview piece.  If you’re looking for specific mentions of a project or person (not just full articles), the best way to find them is through the Search bar.

X and Bluesky

Our socials mainly cover news that is time-sensitive or actionable by our readers.  To avoid cluttering feeds, we prefer to promote things on these platforms that are high priority to us or our readers – for example open applications, or a public event that our viewers can join.

Articles

These may be Breaking News articles, or Feature Articles.

Breaking News content covers quick-fire news that is time-sensitive.  These articles have a broader scope than our social posts, and cover a wider variety of news.

Meanwhile, Feature Articles are for less- or non-time-sensitive news, and are designed to uplift projects from all over the Minecraft space.  They often include interviews with the project organisers, and go into a lot more depth about what the project is and what makes it special.

Monthly cover feature

On or around the 1st of every month, we’ll post a new article that will get the spotlight as our main featured article for the month.  This article will receive extra promotion, including a prime spot on the website’s home page for the whole month, and being featured on the “front cover“.
