Two teams went head-to-head across an assortment of minigames in Gameshow Showdown on Sunday. Missed the show? Here’s what happened!
The gameshow was run by RASA Studios, and was livestreamed to CubedCon’s Twitch channel to raise money for Special Effect, a charity supporting the physically disabled to play video games.
The two teams competing were the “Spooky Boba Orbs” (the Blue team): CamelotWarrior, InsaneOrbitzz and Wraithzeon, versus the “Magic Tabbies” (the Orange team): Rexiipher, MarshieMonarch and HiImCC.

After making their way to the gameshow factory, the first minigame the teams battled in was Ternary Trials. This was a communication redstone puzzle game, in which players had to stand on pressure plates to grant each other access to different areas of the level. If done successfully, the players were able to stand on the final pressure plates to unlock the door to the next level. Ultimately, the Spooky Boba Orbs claimed the first point of the show by completing all of the levels first.
Next up was Sprint VG. This was a communication parkour puzzle game. Teams had to race to the finish line by completing parkour tasks, including some with puzzle elements. Once again, the Spooky Boba Orbs emerged victorious.

After a short break, the teams returned for their third game: Flick Flack. The aim of this game was simple: outlive the opposing team in each round, in a small arena with obstacles to parkour between. To do this, players could knock other players off the obstacles into the water by using bows and arrows (with an arrow spawning every so often on each side of the arena), or by pressing buttons to activate traps on the enemy side of the arena. It was here that the Magic Tabbies claimed their first point.
The fourth game was Deadlock. This game saw teams race through a selection of deadly puzzle rooms, in which a death by any player would result in the whole room being reset. The Magic Tabbies managed to complete the final level first, and won another point.

With the two teams tied on two points each, the victory came down to the fifth game: Sand Swipe. This was a PvP game in which teams had to collect sand from the arena – including by stealing it from the enemy team – and place it on their own podium. The sand banked every two minutes, with red sand spawning occasionally that was worth triple points. After a tense round, the Magic Tabbies banked more sand than the Spooky Boba Orbs, and became the ultimate winners.
That wasn’t to be the end of the show though, for after this tense reverse sweep, the Magic Tabbies went on to compete in a final game against a team of Twitch viewers: DanRPB, objectively_glue, and Kirito_5594. The game was Shoot ‘Em All Around, which involved players parkouring around an arena to hit targets. These targets unlocked mini parkour rooms that granted points on completion. The viewer team were unable to avenge the fallen Spooky Boba Orbs, with the Magic Tabbies taking the win for their fourth minigame in a row.

Congratulations to the Magic Tabbies on their victory! If you want to watch or re-watch the show, you can do so here, on the CubedCon Twitch channel.
