Celebrating the year’s most impressive redstone builds – and how you can get involved

Rhubarb 24 October, 2025 3 min read

The Redstone Awards are back for their fifth year, debuting the Games category and a brand new submission and voting system.

“I started the Redstone Awards all the way back in 2021 as a way for the redstone community to have its own event to look forward to,” CraftyMasterman, the organiser of the event, tells us. There weren’t really any events centered around redstone before, and redstone is rarely present in more generalised competitive Minecraft events. The event is an award show that aims to celebrate the accomplishments of the community over the past year. “Back then MC Championship was exploding in popularity,” Crafty continues, “and I wanted redstoners to feel part of something cool as well.”

The Redstone Awards have evolved significantly since their inception. In 2023 the team scaled up production, making it a live event that people can attend in Minecraft. The event showcases all the finalists and award winners, and has featured speeches by special guests such as Ethoslab and TangoTek.

Last year the Redstone Awards featured a Hidden Gem award for the first time, to promote smaller creators and their work. “All the winners of that contest were games, something that we realised was a big part of the redstone community that we hadn’t accounted for when making categories,” Crafty says. Games will now be a full category for this year’s event. “Games and adventure-map-like redstone experiences have been a thing since redstone was added, so it was only fair it finally got its own category,” Crafty tells us. He explains the new category in a bit more depth in his video about this year’s Redstone Awards, saying that an award-winning redstone game should be creative, accessible and fun to play for anyone.

The new category isn’t the only change coming to the Redstone Awards this year – the whole format is receiving an overhaul. In the past, people were nominated for awards and then the community could vote on who they thought should win. “This year, to avoid any popularity contest, anyone can submit their own redstone builds to whatever category they see fit,” Crafty tells us, “letting any viewer who may not be a big creator have a chance at winning an award just by submitting a cool build.”

As it has every year, the Redstone Awards is raising money for charity, and is hoping to meet their goal of $5,000 USD for the Trevor Project. “I hope this year will be the biggest and best show that we’ve had yet,” Crafty says, “with more players on the server, more concurrent viewers on the YouTube stream, and more money going to charity.”

The Redstone Awards is a big community event in the redstone space, bringing people together and celebrating a year of achievements. “With every year I hope it puts a spotlight on the redstone community and inspires people to try redstone on their own,” Crafty explains. “I’m always excited to see any creators I know in the crowd, especially if they are not redstoners. It really shows that this event has an appeal that can hook new members into our community.”
