The Bird’s Island Challenge goes “back to school”

Wraithzeon 3 September, 2025 2 min read

MCC Island tournament TBIC has revealed the date and theme of the first event of their new season.

The MCC Island tournament has been on break since their Pride event in June, leaving a gap of nearly three months between seasons.

“Another season, another bunch of TBIC events to sign up for,” staff member Ironic wrote in an announcement on the TBIC Discord.  “We’re back with Season 3 to showcase a bunch of new ideas we’ve come up with for the rest of the season.”

“With the first two seasons helping us figure out scoring, as well as the structure of the event, for Season 3 we’ve decided to run with different themes,” Ironic continues.  “Each event will now be named instead of numbered, and will have an overall theme to follow along.”

“Hopefully a few of them are charity events, hopefully a few of them are partnered events, and maybe there will also be some for-fun, completely wild events just to spice it up,” event owner BirdBoiGames added in an announcement video.  Last season, the tournament raised $205 USD for Teenage Cancer Trust (alongside Heart Of A Hero) and $239 USD for The Trevor Project, as well as running a special partnered event with fellow MCC Island tournament Isle To Glory.

The first event of TBIC’s Season 3 will be “TBIC: Back To School”.  This event is intended to be on the less competitive side, with basic rules and, as Ironic writes, “friendly maps (kind of)”.

Like many people, TBIC is going “back to school” this September.

“I’m just really thankful for how many of y’all have stuck with me since the beginning,” BirdBoiGames said in their video, “and everyone who’s come along during the journey it took to get here.  It really really means a lot that y’all believed in the little island event that could.”

TBIC: Back To School will take place on Saturday 13th September 13th at 6pm BST / 1pm EDT.  You can apply for the event here, with the deadline to do so being this Friday (5th September) at 6pm BST.
