It’s the season of giving, and CrunchMunch Creations is embodying the spirit of the winter holidays with their charity event Chrunchy Christmas.
Chrunchy Christmas is a Minecraft minigame event developed by CrunchMunch Creations and partnered with WraithStation, to help raise money for charity. The goal is to raise £1000 GBP during the event, which will go to the charities Jingle Jam is supporting this year. “I’ve always looked up to these fundraisers where you’re able to help a bigger cause,” Zuite, CrunchMunch leader and builder, tells us. “It really helped us to be able to sort of lean on Jingle Jam. I think it makes us less stressed about the whole fundraiser thing, because we do have a lot of trust and admiration for the Jingle Jam crew.”

Jingle Jam is the multi-charity fundraiser founded by the Yogscast in 2011, which now runs annually. Through both Yogscast content and through the support of hundreds of other content creators running their own campaigns and events for it each year, it has raised £27.5 million for good causes.
Chrunchy Christmas will feature thirty-three content creators from all different corners of the Minecraft space, including both regular event players and creators for whom this will be their first minigame tournament. Players take on the role of Santa’s elves, working together in teams across a series of Christmas-themed minigames, in order to prove themselves to Santa and be chosen to help him deliver presents on Christmas Eve.

“I think one of our biggest draws is that we have tried our best to be non-PvP,” Zuite explains. “A lot of events utilise the PvP element of the game, and although it can be fun, a lot of players, including myself, think that PvP may not always be the best or easiest gamemode to play. [Chrunchy Christmas] is more about strategising and figuring out the game mechanics as fast as possible in order to try and win.”
This will be CrunchMunch’s third year putting on Chrunchy Christmas, and there will be a few new things for players and viewers to expect. “We’ve done some lobby changes, some new original models that we are making in order to decorate the area a bit more, and also a brand new minigame, which we are testing right now, which I’m super excited about,” Zuite tells us.

The new game is called ‘Dear Santa’. “It’s a minigame where you are in a train that has been transporting letters to Santa,” Zuite explains. “Unfortunately one of the train carriages opened mid-drive, and a bunch of the letters flew out into this little igloo village where there are little penguins living. Your job as Santa’s helper is of course to go out into this penguin village and collect all the letters. However, some of the penguins are not so charitable, so you might need to give them something in exchange for the letters before they give them to you.”
One widely loved game that will be making a return this year is ‘Don’t Wake PeePaw’ – a tense, stealth-focused challenge that is one of the most unique games in the event. “It’s a minigame where you sneak around a mansion delivering presents,” Zuite says. “I know a lot of the audience really loves this game, and it’s one of my all-time favourites as well.”

“Mojang often updates the game and makes new possibilities for us in the vanilla space, because the event itself is completely vanilla,” Zuite tells us. Being in vanilla Minecraft makes the event more accessible to players, but also poses some challenges to the developers. “We always are in a bit of a fight of trying to update it, but also not updating it too close to the event time, because we don’t want things to break.”
There will be several donation incentives for the event to help involve viewers who might be able to contribute. Jingle Jam itself has an incentive called the Jingle Jam Game Collection, where those who donate £35 or more get a collection of Steam keys, coupons, and in-game goodies. Additionally, Chrunchy Christmas has a few donation goals of its own that will impact the minigames in the event.

The most notable of these incentives is the Chaos Mode goal. “In our game Mace Race that was played last year, [Chaos Mode] would make the wind burst affect everyone instead of just affecting yourself, so the wind burst would knock players away from the snowmen in the game, and potentially knock people a hundred blocks into the air,” Zuite says. Mace Race’s Chaos Mode will be returning as a donation incentive, alongside a few other Chaos Modes that will impact other games. “We are looking forward to reaching our goals and making our players experience the most chaotic version of the games.”
This year, Jingle Jam is supporting a wide array of charities such as Make-A-Wish, the Trevor Project, and Autistica to name just a few – and the teams at CrunchMunch and WraithStation are happy to be raising money alongside them. “We’re super excited for it to be a charity event. I’ve always wanted to support charity in a way I can’t individually support it, so I’m super excited to be able to bring along my friends and invite a bunch of other creators to help support a greater cause.”
Chrunchy Christmas 2025 will take place on Sunday 7th December at 5pm GMT / 12pm EST. You can find out more about the event here, or stay up to date with the latest Chrunchy Christmas news on X at @CrunchMunch_ or @WraithStation.
