Thirty duos will soon be going head to head in Couple Craft Showdown, a livestreamed gameshow hosted by bumpyJake. We chatted with Jake to find out more about the show!

Following the success of Season 1 last February, Couple Craft Showdown is returning for Season 2. Each episode features ten couples who will battle it out across three action-packed minigames.
“The idea for this event was born out of me feeling inspired to create another holiday-based event, after the community’s positive reaction to my 2023 Christmas event,” Jake tells us. “Valentine’s Day just happened to be next on the calendar!”
“The theme inspired me to do something based around couples, which is also a format that I haven’t seen many events explore,” Jake continues. “I had originally intended it to be a single episode purely for romantic couples, but after seeing the response on my announcement post, I decided to expand it to be open to all, and to run multiple episodes.”

Last year’s episodes were won by spacebr0wnies and kelawesome, mysticat and AmestonMC, and olivehoodies and PirateWalnut. “All of them will be returning for Season 2, to see if they can remain the Couple Craft Champions,” Jake says. “One of my favourite moments from last year was in Episode 2, where after returning to the lobby following the final game, Couple 3 – BryTheGuy and Taejon – were ahead of Couple 1 – mysticat and AmestonMC – by five points. Both still had their final Newlywed rounds to go. Couple 3 failed their round, and Couple 1 won theirs, pushing them into first by only five points, pulling off an insane comeback to win the entire episode!”
The minigames played last season were:
- BLOCK FOR BLOCK: a building game where one member of the duo has to describe the build, so that the other player (who can’t see it) can replicate it. Roles are swapped after completing a build, so that each player gets a turn at being both builder and describer. Points are based on how quickly the couples complete each build.
- CHICKEN FIGHT: one member of the duo is randomly assigned as the Mover, with the other as the Damager. The Mover carries the Damager around the map, and can collect power-ups to unlock their Dash ability. Meanwhile, the Damager can collect the falling explosive chickens around the map (if they can catch them before they reach the ground), and catapult them at other players. However, the two players have linked health, so teamwork is needed.
- BLIND FAITH: one player is blindfolded, and the other has to guide them through a maze to push a button. At this point the roles are swapped, and the now seeing player must guide their newly blindfolded partner to a second button. The team who completes this challenge fastest wins.

Block For Block is confirmed to be returning for Season 2. “Block for Block was very well-received by players in the last season, so we’re bringing it back, with some tweaks and revamps to give players and viewers an even better experience,” Jake tells us.
Chicken Fight and Blind Faith, meanwhile, are being replaced with brand new but equally exciting games. “The two new games will be revealed later in the lead-up to the event,” Jake says, “but viewers can expect a perilous movement-based game, and a heated new team-vs-team round robin game!”
Like last year, there will also be extra chances to score points between rounds in the Newlywed Game, where the duos are given questions to answer about their couple (for example “who’s more likely to…?”). Points are awarded if both players’ answers match.
“One of the most fun parts of the event for me is seeing how each duo approaches the games, and the ways they communicate and strategise with each other,” Jake says. “Everyone has such a different dynamic, and it’s really fun to see how people fare when placed into a competitive environment.”

“I want to give a massive shout-out to the entire team working with me to bring this event to life,” Jake says. “It is by no means a one man job, and I could not have done it without the artists, builders, developers, and so many more who have played a part in this project.”
Season 2 will be live on the 14th, 15th and 16th of March 2025, with each episode starting at 9pm GMT / 5pm EDT.
