Have you heard about BlanketCon ‘25? Having previously ran in 2022 and 2023, this public celebration of Minecraft modding is back for another year. If you’re wondering what BlanketCon is and, critically, how you can get involved with this year’s celebrations, then don’t fret; we’ve outlined some of the core things you’ll need to know!
BlanketCon ‘25 is a fully virtual collaborative Minecraft modding showcase that’s set on a server known as the Volcano Island National Park. This unique Minecraft world features numerous different biomes across a single large, expansive island – and, critically, it’s home to one of the biggest virtual Minecraft modding conventions.
BlanketCon ‘25 will see over 150 modders coming together to show off a grand total of 234 unique mod submissions, ranging from accessory mods to unique skins and new blocks and so much more! In addition to featuring a showcase of a huge selection of different mods, the convention also offers plenty of hugely exciting talks and panels, ensuring there’s something for everyone.
If you’re looking to attend BlanketCon ‘25 as a visitor (or perhaps the term “tourist” might be better when exploring this stunning new park), you can expect to be able to be able to join the server from April 26th-28th. Server joining information will be revealed nearer to the start of the event, on the BlanketCon website and social / community platforms.
There are numerous things you can expect at BlanketCon ‘25. The most obvious attractions are, of course, the mods themselves, and exploring the hundreds of booths displaying different mods. However, that’s not all there is to look forward to, as some of the main attractions for tourists visiting the Volcano Island National Park include:
- Talks and panels. In addition to hundreds of mods, many of the modders involved in BlanketCon ‘25 will also host panels and talks. As such, there are plenty of amazing talks you can look forward to and listen to. In fact, there are 14 great stage events planned!
- Collecting shards. During your adventures around Volcano Island National Park, you’ll have the opportunity to collect shards at each booth you visit!
- Playing minigames. Take part in games and activities around the island.
- Solving Volcano Island’s mystery! While the main attraction is the mods themselves, there’s also something even more enticing and elusive bubbling under the surface. Indeed, Volcano Island might be a pristine national park, but it’s also got a mystery to solve: namely, why the island always appears to be moving! So, team up with friends and take part; you might just be able to unravel the island’s most hidden secrets during the event.
