The Minecraft event space contains a wide variety of events. Some, like MCC and Block Wars, you have to be specifically invited onto their roster, whilst others have applications open to anyone. Here are a few of the best ways to discover both types!
TWITTER / X:
X (formerly known as Twitter) is perhaps the best place to discover events, event studios and organisers, and regular event players.
It’s also super useful to be on X so that you can apply to events – for many events, simply replying to a post counts as your application, instead of answering questions on an application form. The event organisers will then review your channel (which you should have linked in your bio) and make a decision purely based on that.
You can also follow update accounts, which collate information about events from a variety of sources. Sphere News has an X page which reports on event news and opportunities throughout the week. Creator Wins is another account which reports on small Minecraft creator news, “wins”, as well as announcements and projects.
DISCORD:
Many events also have public Discords you can join to stay up to date with their announcements, such as when applications open for their next events.
Sphere News has a Discord newsletter – this is a round-up of event news and opportunities that goes out every Friday, and reports on events you can watch, apply for, help staff, as well as public events anyone can participate in.
BUMPYJAKE’S CALENDAR:
bumpyJake has created a Google calendar you can add to your own, showing what events are on and when! This is also useful for spotting scheduling clashes.
