In April we ran another crossword competition! Whilst the competition has now closed, you can now play the crossword for fun and check your answers (either in the crossword app itself, or by simply scrolling down to see the solution).
This is a general Minecraft crossword, including a few clues on the more cryptic side.
How to use the crossword app
You can use the following icons within the crossword app to navigate. From left to right:

Clues, solution, and explanations below:
- 1 Across: A block that gets damaged when used (5) ANVIL
- 3 Across: A fight against mobs from a spawner (5) TRIAL (from the v1.21 Trial Chambers)
- 6 Across: Curse that makes belongings disappear upon a player’s death (9) VANISHING
- 7 Across: Obtained during [3 Across] (3) KEY (Trial Keys are from the v1.21 update)
- 8 Across: Mob that eats wheat (3) COW
- 9 Across: In most biomes, there is 25% chance of catching this when fishing (6) SALMON
- 10 Across: Can be decorated (3) POT
- 11 Across: __ of the Village (4) HERO
- 13 Across: Block found in [2 Down] caves or shallow water (4) CLAY
- 14 Across: Aw, man! (7) CREEPER (reference to a lyric from Minecraft parody song “Revenge”, by CaptainSparklez and TryHardNinja, that became a meme)
- 17 Across: Can be red or gold (5) APPLE
- 18 Across: A storage block (7) DROPPER (while not one you may normally think of, droppers are containers)
- 19 Across: A place with no daylight cycle or weather (6) NETHER
- 1 Down: Passive counterpart to [6 Down] (5) ALLAY
- 2 Down: Cave type (4) LUSH
- 3 Down: Can be put in a bucket (7) TADPOLE
- 4 Down: __ Box, a Minecraft event (8) PANDORAS (Pandora’s Box is a popular minigame tournament)
- 5 Down: Music disc by Lena Raine (7) PIGSTEP
- 6 Down: Feeling infuriated by this mob? (3) VEX (to be “vexed” means to feel irritated or annoyed)
- 10 Down: A tasty pumpkin dish (3) PIE (from craftable food “pumpkin pie”)
- 12 Down: [14 Across] will stay 6 blocks away from this (6) OCELOT
- 13 Down: Remove the sides of an image of beetroots or potatoes? (4) CROP (“crop” can mean a cultivated plant, or to remove the sides of something – commonly used as a photo editing term)
- 15 Down: Can be man or mite? (5) ENDER (from “enderman” and “endermite”)
- 16 Down: An eyeblossom does this at night (4) OPEN (eyeblossoms are a flower found in the new pale garden biome)
