Vampires are dangerous, mystical creatures dating all the way back to the 1700s. They are well known for their sharp teeth and hatred for silver and garlic. And in the newest story by POWCreations, they are known to be in the shape of blocky Minecraft figures. What is the town of Oakhurst, who are these vampires, and just how dangerous can they be? This exclusive interview with Smajor (a.k.a. Scott or Dangthatsalongname) may just answer that.

Interview With The Vampire
In the Vampires SMP, we are introduced to fourteen characters, with twelve of them being human, and two of them being secretly vampires. The humans have quite a simple set of tasks: rebuild the town from its ruins, find some new friends, and survive the night in a monster-riddled world. But Scott, one of the the two old vampires on this server, has a different goal in mind.

“He doesn’t really plan on getting out of this place,” Scott tells us about his roleplay character. “He plans on taking over! Oakhurst used to be the town that feared him and supplied him with the high life he’s used to, and after rebuilding his manor, he’s going to want some order back in place around these parts.”
The town Oakhurst went under a different name 600 years ago, back when Scott’s character was in his prime. He was a manor lord feared by these people, living in luxury, but all of this changed when he was buried by the very people who supplied him. When he wakes up again, after what he thought would be an eternal slumber, he is met with the ruins of his old manor, and a thirst for blood.
One detail, though: he’s stuck amongst humans, having to hide his true past to fit in and rebuild the town alongside them. “It’s really strange for him. He’s been asleep so long that he’s forgotten how humans interact. Things like forgetting to use torches because he has night vision, but humans don’t.”
The server is played out in a way not unlike games like Town Of Salem or Among Us – the latter being a game Scott used to play a lot with streamer Hafu’s daily so-called Morning Lobbies during the game’s prime. In every session of Vampires SMP, the vampires need to turn one of the humans, while the humans need to sus out who is threatening their peaceful plans. While some of the townsfolk definitely believe in the supernatural, there are very few who seem convinced of the existence of vampiric creatures. Luckily for them, vampires are able to blend in less and less the more they kill.

Long-time viewers of Scott will probably know this isn’t the first time he plays the role of vampire on an SMP. “Vampires have been a weirdly recurring feature for my channel, something I didn’t realise until recently,” Scott tells us. “Years ago I was on a series called Harmony Hollow, and me and my friend Jacksucksatlife did a Vampires vs Hunters storyline. Then during another modded series I did, called Afterlife SMP, I also played a vampire character. Everyone seemed to really resonate with it, so it’s been fun to get to play this kind of role again!”
When asked how it feels to be back playing as a sassy vampire, he says: “I just get to live my Disney villain fantasy! It’s so fun being the tongue-in-cheek kind of villain – the ones that you know you aren’t meant to like, but you secretly do. He’s my Mother Gothel.”
Unlike previous POWCreations SMPs, the Vampires SMP can solely be followed via YouTube – following other lore series like Whitepine and the Life Series in its format. Scott’s episodes can be found on his channel, @Dangthatsalongname, or you can follow the overall Vampires SMP at @POWCreations on X.
