This will be the live gameshow’s sixth year at CubedCon, but this time it will be under a new name.
Before ever going to Cubed, the show was originally made as a fan-made version of a gameshow by the Noxcrew. The team behind it were known as the Noxsquad, and hence the show was known as the Noxsquad Gameshow. Noxsquad later renamed themselves as RASA Studios to become more independent, and this year, RASA is taking one step further away from their origins that formed the show’s namesake.
“After almost ten years of production, our show now has its own games and its own character,” explains Dwittyy, a game designer for RASA Studios. “We wanted to change the name to represent the show as it is now, becoming its own independent creation, while still respecting the past. Gameshow has not gone anywhere!”

Noxsquad Gameshow will henceforth be known as Gameshow Showdown – but will still retain its presence at CubedCon, the in-game Minecraft convention where its found its home.
The show features a selection of silly and wacky gameshow-style games, and is ran live in a similar way to shows you might see on TV – with multiple cameras, graphics and cutaways, presenters, and live interaction with chat.
“Here at Gameshow Showdown, we’re not satisfied if the contestants or audience walk away without big grins!” Dwittyy tells us. “If you’ve never heard of or seen the show, then strap in for an evening of outright silly entertainment, with minigames you’ve not seen anywhere else, and plenty of ways for the audience to get involved.”
For those who are already familiar with the show under its previous title, there’ll be plenty of new things to look forward to as well. “We always love to add new things to every show, whether that’s new games, new challenges, new maps, new jokes, or a fresh new coat of paint!” Dwittyy says. “Every show has a different set of games to choose from, and for the show this year, you can expect the return of some old favourites, some tricky teamwork trials, and perhaps the wackiest roster of games yet. Bundle that together with all of the jokes that we hope will land, and a group of stellar contestants, and we’ve got a show for you!”
The show will feature the “Spooky Boba Orbs”, a team made up of CamelotWarrior, InsaneOrbitzz and Wraithzeon, competing against the “Magic Tabbies”, made up of Rexiipher, MarshieMonarch and LynxyLiam. The winning team will then compete in the final game against a team made up of viewers from the CubedCon Twitch stream.
“Personally, I’m very much looking forward to seeing how our contestants fare in the… challenges we’re throwing their way,” Dwittyy tells us. “I reckon it will be a close match! There are also a couple of things outside of the show which a lot of the audience will enjoy, and perhaps something even bigger coming soon…”
Gameshow Showdown will take place on Sunday 5th October at 6pm BST / 1pm EDT, and broadcast on the CubedCon Twitch channel. You can follow news about the show on the RASA Studios X.
