The self-proclaimed coolest pangolin of the neighbourhood, Pangi is a YouTuber and Twitch streamer who makes primarily SMP content – you may know him from the Lifesteal SMP or from the Realm SMP. Tomorrow (Sunday 1st June) Pangi will be playing in MC Championship, live from Rotterdam as part of Twitch Rivals. We chatted to him at the convention about how he’s feeling on the run-up to his first time playing in MCC!
“I feel really nervous now, I can’t lie – especially since I do really want to win,” Pangi says. “The problem is, I lack the experience that most other competitors have – but I did train a lot and I don’t doubt my ability to play well tomorrow.”
“Before I knew what the games were, I started practicing a lot of movement games, like Parkour Dojo on MCC Island, and a lot of other movement-type servers, because that was one thing I really had to get better at for the event,” Pangi tells us. “Then once the games came out, I decided to strictly practice those games, like Hole In The Wall, Rocket Spleef, Parkour Warrior, Sky Battle… and I’ve basically been practicing every day, until last week when people came over.”

Despite the practice, there are still some nerves surrounding certain games. “I’m personally really nervous for Rocket Spleef, because it’s one of the games I’ve had the least practice for, and the first time I played it I was awful at it,” Pangi says. “Also probably Railroad Rush – I’d never watched it before because it’s quite a new game, so I had to figure out how it all worked with SandwichLord, but I think it should be fine.”
While Pangi is certainly aiming to win his first MCC, he also has some individual placement targets in mind. “I don’t think I can physically get #1 individual, because Sandwich is too good, and there are a few other players like Shadoune666 that are definitely going to beat me,” he says. “My individual goal is going to be a reach, but top 5 individual – or if not, then top 10.”

With high aspirations, it’ll be exciting to watch Pangi playing tomorrow – but how did his MC Championship adventure come about? “A lot of my friends started streaming because of MCC – they wanted to get in it,” Pangi explains. “I didn’t start streaming to join MCC per se, but I did watch it a lot back in 2021. I stopped watching it for a little bit but I’ve always wanted to play in it.”
This won’t be Pangi’s first Minecraft tournament either – he’s previously played in events such as Block Wars. MCC is, however, what he terms his “end goal event”.
“Scott messaged me: ‘hey Pangi, do you want to join MCC?’ I’m being so honest – I jumped out of my chair, because I got really excited for it!” Pangi says. “It just seems so unreal to go on the big stage at Twitch and compete against other people for the crown. The first person I called was one of my IRL friends, his name is Deehain, and I went ‘this is going to be crazy, you should pull up.’ He wasn’t originally planning on going to TwitchCon, but then he did actually get tickets for it.”

MC Championship isn’t the only exciting thing Pangi’s up to over TwitchCon. “Today I had my first meet & greet – ever!” he tell us. “It was honestly super fun, I really enjoyed it – just meeting up with fans, because normally, you stream every day, you see a number of the amount of viewers on your screen, but that’s nowhere near compared to seeing all of those people in front of you wanting to meet up with you. It was such an awesome experience getting to meet the viewers – that was probably the best thing so far today.”
“Tomorrow I’m going to go IRL streaming in the convention after MCC,” he continues. “I’ve not done it in the convention, so I’m really curious how that’s going to go, and excited for that too.”
You can watch Pangi playing in MC Championship on the Pink Parrots team, alongside his teammates Aimsey, Guqqie, and SandwichLord. The event will take place on Sunday 1st June at 1:30pm BST / 2:30pm CEST (local time) / 8:30am EDT.
