Just a few hours ago, streamer and speedrunner Lowkey announced that he has beaten the longstanding Minecraft Random Seed Glitchless, or RSG, World Record with an outstanding time of six minutes and fifty seconds. His time beats the former record by more than ten seconds and breaks the long standing seven minute barrier.
After more than a year of attempts and near misses from people trying to break Drip120’s world record, Lowkey has pulled it off. The speedrunner is widely considered to be one of the best Minecraft players on Earth. His astonishing technical skill is on full display in his world record speedrun.

Lowkey is known for his outstanding performances in the Minecraft Speedrunning Ranked (MCSR) tournaments, which he has won three times. He is also the current world record holder for the Minecraft Set Seed Glitchless, or SSG, category for the 1.16+ version of the game, where his time is a remarkable one minute and thirty two seconds. Needless to say, he is a formidable speedrunner.
The past several weeks have been a whirlwind for Minecraft’s speedrunning community as speedrunners have gotten closer and closer to breaking the former world record of seven minutes and one second, set by Drip120 on 3rd January 2024. After so many recent near misses, that record has finally been broken.

On 13th May of this year, speedrunner Priffie entered the end at five minutes and fifty seconds, on pace to break Drip120’s world record. However, they were unable to perform a Zero Cycle and the record slipped though their fingers.
Even more recently, on 3rd June 2025, Skycrab was on track to smash the world record and beat the game with a time of six minutes and seventeen seconds. He had beaten the Ender Dragon and only needed to enter the End Gateway, but was killed by an enderman just moments before he would have set an unbelievable record.
Lowkey’s world record starts as most modern speedruns do – with him looting a buried treasure chest to get an unlikely seventeen iron ingots. The thing that sets this run apart from most other runs, however, is that Lowkey only needs to kill six blazes in order to get the six blaze rods he needs to complete the seed. The odds of this are 0.015625%, and this stroke of luck is part of what puts Lowkey on this historic pace.

Despite a slight mistake while building his second portal to exit the Nether, Lowkey moves through the game with speed and precision – allowing him to enter the End at only five minutes and fifty six seconds. The conclusion of this run is a Zero Cycle, a technique used by highly skilled Minecraft speedrunners to kill the Ender Dragon high above the ground before it perches, which Lowkey executes spectacularly.

Lowkey’s record marks the beginning of a new era for RSG speedrunning. Drip120’s record stood for more than a year before Lowkey was able to beat it with a combination of remarkable luck and exceptional skill. Still, it is clear from runs like Skycrab’s that this new record is not the human limit, and speedrunners will keep working to get increasingly faster completions in the hopes of beating this incredible record as well.
